About the Project

Existing metal pipe

Update: As of 10/10/24 THE PIPE IS GONE!!!

I've learned the pipe is FIBERGLASS, so it's impossible to get funds for it, but would still like to remove it .

In an ideal world, I would find a way to remove this metal pipe and get funds for it as scrap metal. If anyone has any ideas on that, please reach out to me at brody@muthard.com. That would be a real win-win situation as it would remove an eye sore and get some extra funds for the project.

Existing Large open area

The area in front of the shed will house the train feature and buddy benches around it. The vision for the completed space is to support an entire classroom. The area behind the remaining shed will contain the Lifetime Playset, which is the ideal space for kids to release some excess energy.

The Train Feature

The train feature will be made of non-pressure treated wood. Ideally, I will use cedar for its durability. The only constraint for that being budget. The area will have rubber mulch and buddy benches surrounding.

The Lifetime Playset

The Lifetime Castle Playset is the perfect addition to help pre-school age children get out some excess energy. It is geared to their size with steps with a railing. The swings will be switched out for child safe swings and a papoose swing. The entire area will have rubber mulch, complying with fall zone regulations. Therefore, it will be 9" deep with 16 feet of rubber mulch on all sides.

Sensory walkways

Each of the play areas will be connected by sensory walkways and connect to the Autistic Support Classroom doorways that lead to the outdoor space.
